Ms. Ama Hingurala Arachchi currently holds the position of Lecturer (probationary) within the Department of Finance at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She attained her Bachelor's degree with a first class in finance from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She has completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in finance at the University of Colombo.
Ms. Ama has undertaken her undergraduate research study concerning the Impact of Working Capital Management on Shareholder Wealth, and her master's thesis delved into the examination of the Personal Financial Well-being of Self-employed Rural Women in Sri Lanka. Her research interests are in the fields of personal finance, sustainable finance, and inclusive finance.
Ms. Ama has extensive teaching experience spanning six years, during which she has delivered tutorials and lectures on subjects including Financial Management, Investment and Portfolio Management, Entrepreneurial Finance, Business Valuation Theory and Application, Financial Analysis, Risk Management and Insurance, and Bank Management. Additionally, she has assisted in academic coordination, serving as an assistant to the coordinator for courses such as Contemporary Issues in Finance, Independent Research Study and Projects, and Internship in Finance.
