Crafterina’21

Crafterina’21 is the biggest inter-university handcraft competition organized by the Department of Human Resource Management Association with the purpose of giving value to the time spent leisurely by the university undergraduates during this pandemic situation and provide crafters with great knowledge and insights about handcrafting and commercializing their crafts. The competition was open for undergraduates in all state universities, semi-state universities, and private universities approved by the University Grants Commission.

The Grand finale was held on 19th June 2020 via zoom platform and winners of the competition were selected by the judge board consisting of Mr. Pramod Lakshitha, Dr. Dinoka Perera, and Dr. Dushar Dayarathna. Following winners were selected under the following categories from over 200 masterpieces.
First place – T.M.A.I.B Tennekoon of University of Moratuwa
First runner up – G.A.K Hasanga of University of Sabaragamuwa
Second runner up – J.M.J Prabhasaree of Ocen University of Sri Lanka
Most eco-friendly craft – W.M Shehan Indika of University of Jaffna
Most commercially valued craft – K.H.M Perera of University of Sri Jayewardenepura
Most timely craft – W.A.D Sakunika of University of Sri Jayewardenepura
Most popular craft – K.P.M Ferdinando of University of Sri Jayewardenepura
A workshop, in accordance with Crafterina’21, was conducted by Creative Director Mr. Pramod Lakshitha on Wednesday, 9th June 2021 via Zoom platform. The objective of the workshop was to provide crafters with great knowledge and insights about handcrafting and commercializing their crafts.
