The HRM Family is the official name of the Association of HRM. The HRM Family is a strong students’ association in the university milieu. Members of the HRM Family are competent to do multi tasks which are related to their managerial skills as well as personal characters. At present, there are more than 250 undergraduates with different talents.
The talents of the HRM Association were manifested in various events organized by the association – the HRM Family within the last academic years and they are; exhibition for 50th Anniversary of the University, Talent Show – Sinesara Raga Soba, HRM New Year Festival – Ape HRM Aurudda, Vesak Dansala –“Maha Kos Dansala”, and HRM Scintilla Night.
The exhibition of the 50th Anniversary of the University was a mass scale exhibition and the numbers of participants were more than one million. All departments and their students’ associations presented their talents and specialties to the invitees and the visitors of the exhibition. The exhibition of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce consisted of eleven exhibition stalls from the twelve Departments of the Faculty. Among the twelve exhibition stalls of the faculty, the stalls of the HRM Family were the best stalls. The visitors appreciated the HRM stalls and its demonstrations (Drama presentation). It was designed and demonstrated on the core values of the Department such as innovation and creativity, multi competencies, stakeholders’ revitalization and blending theories and practices of HRM.
The evolution of the Sri Lankan HRM practices was the main them of the HRM exhibition and it had three separated, but continuous stalls named the king’s era of HRM, the Colonial era of HRM and Modern day HRM. The evolution of HRM in Sri Lanka was initiated by the King’s era of HRM.
The talent show of the HRM undergraduates was named as “Sinesara Raga Soba”, which was a continuous flow of dancing to the songs of Sinhala Films with a meaningful theme. This was the first innovative talent show in the university and the prominent Senior Professor Sunil Ariyarathne commented on it as ‘an excellent work of art in the University’.

𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 ‘𝟮𝟱 | 𝗛𝗥 𝗔𝗯𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻, the outdoor event was successfully held at the University Ground on 4th of July 2025. Through exciting games and activities, students developed leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, while showcasing their talents and bonding with peers. A fun-filled day that fostered growth and friendship.
Corn Dansala
The ‘Corn Dansala’ organized by the Association of Human Resource Management for the 9th consecutive time on the occasion of Vesak Poya was held on the 17th of May 2025, in front of the university exit gate, from 10 a.m. onwards.
