Seeds for the Future 2016 program

The Seeds for the Future 2016 program, organized by Huawei, was held in China from November 5th to 18th, 2016. In Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Telecommunication & Digital Infrastructure served as the administrative partner of this program. Ten students were selected from eight government universities in Sri Lanka following a rigorous interview process. Among the selected students, Ms. Kaveesha Silva from the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, represented the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

During the initial week of the program, participants attended an introductory course in Chinese language and culture at the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU). They also had the opportunity to explore renowned historical sites such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.

In the second week, the group traveled to Shenzhen city to gain practical experience and technical training at Huawei’s global headquarters. The training covered a range of cutting-edge technologies, including 3G, 4G LTE, cloud computing, and IoT solutions. Participants also had the privilege of collaborating with experienced Huawei engineers. Additionally, they visited several of Huawei’s R&D and exhibition centers in Shenzhen.
