
Digital SME project – 3rd Workshop for the SME sector
The third workshop under the “Digital SME” community service project series was held on the 21st of July with the participation of small and medium enterprise owners and the academic staff of the Department of Information Technology. The third workshop was themed “Creating a website for your business: from idea to action”. The contents of the workshop encompassed spreading awareness on domain name registration and a practical tutorial on creating an e-commerce website using an open source business management application.
The key resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Lasith Gunawardene and Mr. Ranil Peiris, two senior lecturers from the Department of Information Technology.
The programme was well received by the audience and the Department Community Services Team looks forward to organizing a fourth and final workshop to generate awareness regarding google tools helpful to improve the productivity of the business.
