BIS CONNECT-Alumni Insights Forum

The Department of Information Technology hosted the inaugural “BIS CONNECT-Alumni Insights Forum” on January 24th, 2024 as a virtual event. This interactive session brought together experienced alumni currently working in diverse IT roles with eager 3rd-year undergraduates, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing and career guidance.We are grateful for our Alumni Mr. Chandika Witharana, Mr. Samudya Amarasinghe Mr. Nuwan Gamage Mr. Indunil Hemathilake, Mr. Tharanga Dilshan Pathirana, Ms. Promodani Jayakodi, Ms. Savindi Fonseka, Ms. Sandali Jayakody who agreed at short notice to j,oin the Online Session and provide insights. The Session was coordinated by Ms. Lakshana Assalaarachchi on behalf of the Department. Through insightful presentations and lively discussions, the alumni offered firsthand accounts of their journeys in the ever-evolving IT landscape. They explained the specifics of their current job roles, highlighting the skills, knowledge, and experiences required for success. This provided the undergraduates with a clearer picture of potential career paths and how their degree program subjects contribute to building the necessary foundation. We are immensely grateful to our dedicated alumni who generously shared their time and expertise with our undergraduates despite their busy schedules.
