
Global Tech Giant Virtusa signs MoU with DIT

Ltd, the Sri Lankan Arm of Virtusa, a key player in the local IT recruitment landscape. With a remarkable track record, Virtual Pvt. Ltd. stands as one of the foremost recruiters of IT professionals in the country, recruiting over 1000 graduates in 2022. This standing has been fortified by their productive collaboration with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, which spans over a decade.
A significant milestone was recently achieved as the Department of Information Technology within the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura formalized its partnership with Virtusa Corporation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11th of August 2023. This significant event marked a juncture where academia and industry converge to nurture mutual growth and advancement.
The signing ceremony was held at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura recently with Senior Prof. Pathmalal Manage, the Vice Chancellor USJ, and Mr. Sampath Thirimawitharana, Director-HR Virtusa, acting as the signatories. Bearing witness to this collaborative endeavor were distinguished figures, including Mr. Aniston Leo, Associate Consultant in Talent Acquisition (Campus Hiring). Additional credibility was lent to this partnership as Dr. Dushan Jayawickrama, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, and Prof. Lasith Gunawardena, the Head of the Department of IT, endorsed the MoU as witnesses from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Prof. Champa Hewagamage and Dr. Amitha Kumara, representing the Department of IT also joined in the event
