Stakeholder consultation Forum 2019

The Department of Finance has successfully conducted a Stakeholder Consultation Forum, on Tuesday, the 05th of November 2019 at the Centre of Banking Studies, Ragagiriya with the participation of the industry practitioners and the academics of the Departments. Fifteen industry experts representing financial market sector, corporate finance sector and IT & business communication sector shared their valuable comments in this Forum.

The Forum was conducted as an essential step of the process of revisiting the existing curriculum of the B.Sc. Finance (Special) Degree and to get the insights on industry expectations from Finance graduates who pass out from the Department and to get comments on the curriculum. The discussions were fruitful where industry participants suggest to introduce new course units (subjects), revise the existing course units to match the curriculum with the latest trends, new knowledge in the discipline while developing required generic and discipline-specific skills and attitude of the students. New teaching-learning mechanisms are also expected to adopt while closely collaborating with the corporate sector in order to make sure the graduates of the Department are suitable for the highly dynamic business environment.
