Nada 2025: A Celebration of Artistry and Unity at the Department of Finance

Nada 2025, the annual talent showcase of the aesthetically gifted undergraduates of the Department of Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, took to the stage on the 22nd of October 2025 at the New Faculty Building premises.

This year’s event shone as a celebration of creativity, culture, and student unity. Commencing at 7.00 p.m., the evening unfolded with a series of vibrant performances presented by undergraduates representing all years of study. The stage came alive with dynamic dance items, soulful vocal performances, and musical expressions that reflected the diverse artistic strengths nurtured within the department.

The event was honoured by the presence of its Chief Guest, Professor Praneeth Abeysundara of the Department of Anthropology of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who currently serves as the Chairman of the National Arts Council of Sri Lanka. The evening was further graced by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Dushan Chaminda, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Senior Professor Hareendra Dissabandara, esteemed faculty members of the university, and distinguished invitees from the corporate sector, adding prestige and significance to the occasion.

Adding further brilliance to the night, Centigradz delivered captivating performances that energized the audience, while the Flair Band provided exceptional live music throughout the event, ensuring a seamless and engaging atmosphere from start to finish.

Beyond the artistic excellence displayed, Nada 2025 served as a platform that fostered collaboration, strengthened bonds among students, and highlighted the department’s commitment to promoting holistic development. The event not only showcased talent but also reaffirmed the vibrant culture and spirit of the Department of Finance.
