USJ FMSC Finance Department launches Master of Applied Finance Program

The Department of Finance (DoF) of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), launches its new postgraduate program, the Master of Applied Finance, on November 2, 2024, at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) auditorium.

It is an SLQF Level 9, one-year postgraduate program that specializes in Finance, aimed at both professionals and academics in Finance. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive theoretical grounding in the discipline of Finance along with its application in decision-making and formulation of financial policy.

The event was held in the presence of FMSC Dean Prof. D. Jayawickrama, DoF Head Prof. C. Gunathilaka and Coordinator Applied Finance Programs Dr. N.S. Nanayakkara. The keynote speech was delivered by SEC Chairman Snr. Prof. H. Dissabandara, while the guest speeches were delivered by SEC Director General Mr. C. Mendis and Prof. Y.K. Weerakoon, DoF, FMSC.

Industry representatives, professionals, academics, alumni members and the candidates of the program attended this event.
