
Value Masters 2025 Grand Finale: Celebrating Sri Lanka’s Top Valuation Talent
The Department of Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, together with the Students’ Association of Finance, proudly hosted the Grand Finale of Value Masters 2025 on 22nd September 2025 at the University premises. The event was organized in collaboration with the CFA Society Sri Lanka and Acuity Knowledge Partners, marking yet another milestone in Sri Lanka’s premier inter-university equity valuation competition.
This year’s competition brought together the brightest minds from universities across the island to present comprehensive equity valuations of Netflix Inc. before a distinguished panel of industry leaders and academics. After an intense final round, Team ValueMinds from the School of Accounting and Business (SAB) – CA Sri Lanka was crowned the champion, lifting the prestigious Grand Trophy. They were followed by FEValuers and ValuSmiths from the University of Kelaniya, who secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. Equiminds from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Volkno from the University of Wayamba also showcased their talent, completing the top five teams.
The event was graced by eminent personalities including Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, who delivered the Chief Guest’s address, and Senior Professor D.B.P.H. Dissabandara, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, as Guest of Honour. Their insights highlighted the importance of academic-industry collaborations and the critical role of equity valuation in capital market development.
Delivering the welcome remarks, Dr. Neelangie Nanayakkara, Head of the Department of Finance, emphasized the significance of Value Masters as a platform that unites learning, application, and innovation. Ms. Rashmi Peiris Paranavitane, President of CFA Society Sri Lanka, also addressed the gathering, underscoring the importance of ethics and analytical discipline in the finance profession.
The finale was attended by Professor D.N. Samudrage, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, along with senior academics, alumni, industry experts, and students. Concluding the event, Mr. Rusiru Nissanka, President of the Students’ Association of Finance, delivered the Vote of Thanks, extending gratitude to all partners, sponsors, and the organizing committee for their unwavering support.
Value Masters 2025 once again stood out as a national benchmark in applied finance education, grooming the next generation of finance leaders to be both competent analysts and principled professionals.
