The Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted a workshop titled “Introducing Odoo ERP” for its academic staff members on 01 June 2026.

The session was facilitated by Dr. C. Ranil Peiris, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information Technology, who possesses extensive expertise in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Business Process Management, Digital Transformation, and Enterprise Information Systems.

The workshop provided participants with a comprehensive introduction to Odoo ERP, an open-source and integrated enterprise management platform designed to streamline organizational processes through a unified suite of business applications. The session covered key functionalities of Odoo, including enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, workflow automation, and business process integration.

Participants gained valuable insights into how ERP systems support organizational efficiency, improve decision-making through centralized data management, and facilitate digital transformation initiatives within modern organizations. The workshop also highlighted the practical applications of Odoo ERP in managing business operations and enhancing productivity through integrated information systems.
