BIS Students Secure Second Runners-Up Position at CryptX 2.0 Designathon

Three second-year undergraduate students of the Bachelor of Information Systems (BIS) degree program brought pride to the Department of Information Technology by securing the Second Runners-Up position at the CryptX 2.0 Designathon, held on 04 April 2026 at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The competition brought together talented student teams from universities across Sri Lanka, providing a platform for participants to demonstrate their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving capabilities through UI/UX design challenges. Competing against strong contenders at the national level, the BIS team showcased exceptional design thinking, technical expertise, and teamwork throughout the event.

The winning team comprised Ruvin Tharinda Palihawadana, Harsha Fernando, and Nayanthi Weerasuriya. Their outstanding performance earned them the Second Runners-Up position, reflecting their commitment, creativity, and ability to develop innovative design solutions under competitive conditions.
