From a young age, I've been fascinated by the intricate dance between people, processes, and progress within organizations. Growing up in a suburban village in Colombo, surrounded by family businesses, entrepreneurial communities, etc., I witnessed firsthand how effective management practices could unlock a team's potential. This fascination led me to explore Business Administration, a field dedicated to understanding the human dynamics and strategic decisions that drive organizational success.
My academic journey culminated in a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. My research explored the captivating topic of Small and medium-sized businesses, focusing on the impact of Strategic Planning on the performance of SMEs. Through this research, I gained a deep understanding of the complex interactions between leadership, strategic planning, owner characteristics, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Today, I have the privilege of sharing my passion for organizational development as a lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. In the classroom, I strive to be a bridge between theory and action. Through interactive simulations, real-world case studies focusing on organizational challenges, and engaging lectures, I empower students to become "organizational architects." My goal is to equip them with the skills to build cohesive teams, craft effective strategies, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Beyond the academic sphere, my passion for organizational effectiveness manifests in consulting and volunteering. Whether it's by helping young individuals develop strategic plans or consulting with start-ups on building strong company culture, I find ways to apply my knowledge to empower organizations to reach their full potential.
My journey as a lecturer and organizational enthusiast is fueled by the belief that every team can be a force for positive change. It's my mission to ignite a passion for strategic thinking and behavioral insights, cultivate practical skills, and equip students with the tools to navigate the ever-evolving organizational landscape and shape the future of successful businesses.
