I am an academic in the field of Business Management and Organisation Studies. I currently serve as a Lecturer (On-Contract) in the Department of Business Administration. I enjoy teaching undergraduate courses on Sociological and Psychological aspects of Business.
I am currently completing my Master of Philosophy in Business at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where I have submitted my thesis on the topic “Discursive Construction of Masculinities among Men within Transnational ICT Workspaces of Sri Lanka.” My study is positioned within the broader fields of Masculinities and Critical Studies on Men, and employs Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis as its primary methodological approach. Furthermore, I am currently reading for a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology at the University of Colombo.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Special) Degree with First Class Honours at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Before joining the Department, I worked as a Category Manager in a leading modern trade chain of a Sri Lankan conglomerate, where I gained industry exposure as a manager.
In addition to teaching courses in the Department’s internal degree programme, I also teach in the External Degree Programme and serve as a visiting lecturer for several academic programmes offered by state universities in Sri Lanka.
I am an early-career researcher with interests in Diversity and Inclusion within organisational contexts, Masculinities and Critical Studies on Men, and Critical Labour Studies. My ongoing research focuses on the formation of techno-masculinities within transnational workspaces in the Global South.
I am passionate about teaching and committed to becoming a competent educator with the ability to inspire individuals and communities through education.
