5th Student Conference in Finance – 2022
The Student Conference in Finance (SCF) is annually organized by the Department of Finance upon its initiation in 2017 with the steering intention of providing a platform for the final year undergraduates of the department to showcase their capability in conducting research and to present their research findings to their peers, juniors, academics, and industry experts.
The 5th SCF was successfully held on the 15th of July 2022 via Zoom from 9 a.m. on wards. Eighteen selected research studies of the undergraduates were presented at the conference covering subjects of corporate finance, corporate governance, portfolio management, financial management, business valuation, behavioural finance etc. Extended abstracts of these studies were published as proceedings of the conference. The Chief Guest for this event was the Vice Chancellor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Snr. Prof. Sudantha Liyanage and the guest of Honour was the Dean, FMSC Prof. P D Nimal. The keynote speaker of the 5th SCF was Professor Chandana Gunathilaka, Head, Department of Finance, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
This event which was sponsored by the AHEAD project was a great success with the active participation of the faculty, undergraduates and alumni of the Department, key finance personnel from the field of finance and many interested parties from the industry.
