DIT career Launchpad 2020: – Workshop #6
The sixth in the series of workshops aimed at students who will be commencing internship this year took place in virtual form via zoom on the 22nd January 2021. The workshop consisted of two Industry presentations and Several Alumni Presentations
The first presentation was from Pristine Solutions Pvt Ltd which provided an introduction on the company and the opportunities provided. This was conducted by Mr. Akila Sajith Kumara (Director), and Ms. Danushi Wetthasinghe (Associate Consultant). Both are alumni from the Department. The Q&A was supported by Mr. Rakitha Dasanayake (Senior Talent Manager, Pristine Solutions (pvt.) Ltd).
The second presentation was conducted by Mr. Adeesha Peiris (Senior Windows Engineer) and Mr. Chamara Hatharasinghe (Manager – Application Management) representing London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) Technologies. This presentation provided students with an in-depth overview of the company and pathways for interns. The Q&A also involved Ms. Inthira Satheeshkumar (Graduate Recruiter, LSEG)
In addition to the three Alumni Members above, the following members of the Department Alumni administered an experience sharing session with the students involving their job roles and career paths:
- Chamara Hatharasinghe – Manager – Application Management, London Stock Exchange Group
- Lochana Wijeratne – Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, ICT Agency of Sri lanka
- Indranatha Madugalle – Head of Administrations & Finance, JF & I Packaging, Kenya
The workshop received a very positive feedback from the fourth-year students of the Department, who are the focus group of the event.
