DIT Career Launchpad 2020: Workshop #5
The fifth workshop under ‘DIT Career Launchpad 2020’ was held via zoom on the 15th January 2021. This fifth workshop in the series featured sessions administered by three corporate guest speakers and two alumni members of the Department.
Mr. Lakmal Embuldeniya – Assistant General Manager – Global Presales, Delivery & Support Services at Tech One Global Ltd. and Assistant General Manager at Enadoc, involved the participants in an informative discussion on the corporate work culture, internship and job opportunities.
Ms. Nilani Suraweera – Lead – Continuous Improvement & Compliance at Tech One Global, as well as an Alumnus of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura shared valuable advice on following your dreams in the road to a successful career, while sharing her own life experiences.
Mr. Kasun Ariyadasa – Director, Software Engineering at IFS Sri Lanka, and an Alumnus of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura introduced IFS and the opportunities provided for the aspiring intern. He further stressed on the importance on developing an “Organization Mindset”.
The following alumni members of the Department shared their personal experience in the industry with the participants.

The event was well received by the fourth-year students of the Department awaiting internship opportunities, who are the focus group of the workshop series.
