DIT career Launchpad 2020: workshop #7
The final workshop of the DIT Career Launchpad series was successfully concluded on the 29th January 2021, via zoom.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Chamil Jeewantha (Chief Software Architect, Zone 24/7) delivered a captivating speech themed “The Final Countdown” on effectively planning the future, which was well received by the participants. His session featured a quiz, where the practical knowledge of students on several real-world scenarios relating to the IT industry were tested. The Keynote can be viewed here
The second half of the event was dedicated to the experience sharing sessions of the Alumni members, where they related their personal success stories and provided opportunities for the participants to engage in a live Q & A session with the speakers. The following alumni members conducted it:
- Kinith Hettiarachchi – Head of Quality Assurance, Access Medicals (pvt.) Ltd.
- Tharindu Porage – Platform Support Consultant and Database Administrator, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand
- Lakshini Buddhika De Zoysa – Senior QA Engineer, Access Medicals (pvt.) Ltd.
- Thiwanka Nawalage – Project Manager, Ascension IT
The workshop resonated with the aspirations of the participants, as it addressed several key areas of concern they had, including identifying personal strengths, choice of a career path, work-life balance and planning for the future. The frequent engagement between the speakers and the audience proved that the event was effectively delivered.
