Microsoft Azure Workshop

A Workshop on Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing Platform was conducted as part of the Subject ITRC 3352– Information and Communication Networks to introduce students to the latest technologies in cloud computing. Third Year Students of the Department of Information Technology participated in this workshop. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Kasun Rajapakse, Senior System / Automation Engineer, ISM APAC Pvt Ltd. Mr. Rajapakse also holds an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) status certification issued by Microsoft Corporation.

The workshop was held online via zoom as two separate sessions on 15th March 2021 and 22nd March 2021. It was organized by Dr. K.S. Lasith Gunawardena (Coordinator ITC 3352 Subject) with the assistance of staff members from the Department of Information Technology. The students were able to log in and experience the Azure Portal, and received awareness on deploying and managing virtual machines, containers, databases and web apps. The session was facilitated by Mr. Prabhath Mannaperuma from Microsoft Sri Lanka Pvt Ltd.
