Stakeholder Meeting on the Proposed Degree Programme and Curriculum Development

The Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, successfully conducted a Stakeholder Meeting on 03 September 2026 at Golden Rose Receptions, Boralesgamuwa, as part of its ongoing initiative to strengthen and enhance its academic programmes in line with evolving industry and professional requirements.

The meeting brought together industry experts, academics, and other distinguished resource persons to obtain valuable insights, professional recommendations, and constructive feedback on the proposed degree structure, concentration areas, and course content.

The discussions were conducted in two key sessions. The first session focused on the proposed degree structure, including the Main Stream Business Information Systems Degree Programme, Business Analytics Minor, and Concentration Fields. The second session centred on the proposed courses and their respective content, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to share their perspectives on the knowledge, skills, and competencies expected of graduates in the contemporary professional landscape.

The Department deeply appreciates the expertise, dedication, and constructive contributions of all stakeholders who participated in this important curriculum development initiative. Their recommendations, particularly regarding the proposed degree structure, Business Analytics and Concentration Field, and individual course content, will provide valuable direction in developing a curriculum that is academically rigorous, industry-relevant, and responsive to current and emerging professional demands.

The insights and recommendations received will be carefully reviewed and incorporated into the ongoing curriculum development process, further strengthening the Department’s commitment to producing future-ready graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the rapidly evolving fields of Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Analytics, and Data Science.
