The Coursework Exchange Program (CWEP) is designed to foster academic collaboration between local and international students worldwide. We welcome prospective students who are interested in enrolling for one semester in our M.Sc. in Real Estate Management and Valuation program, offering the opportunity to engage with our internationally acclaimed curriculum in Sri Lanka. Led by Department of Estate Management and Valuation (DEMV), the CWEP aims to enhance the educational experiences of students and expand their global perspectives.

Duration

First Session

The programme spans 10 weeks, including the assessment period, running from June 01, 2024, to September 29, 2024. Two Subjects available for first session which is total of 6 credits. Refer Table 01 for details.

Second Session

The program spans 10 weeks, including the assessment period, running from October 5, 2024, to December 22, 2024. Four Subjects available for second session which is total of 8 credits. Refer Table 02 for details.

Eligibility

This programme is open for students who are currently engage in Master programme and who would like to take few courses from another accredited programme. Following documents or certified copies of the documents should submit along with the application

  1. Written confirmation from the course coordinator at the student’s home university, indicating that the student has been nominated/released for participation in the Coursework Exchange Program (CWEP) for the M.Sc. in Real Estate Management and Valuation at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka
  2. Curriculum vitae of the student/candidate
  3. A statement of motivation, encompassing details of the candidate’s real estate experience and the reasons for seeking an exchange opportunity at the USJ.
  4. Transcript of completed courses at the home university programme (if available)

Application Procedure

Application for Course Work Exchange Programme of M.Sc. in Real Estate Management and Valuation 2024 must be made through the student registration system of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC). The applicant must follows the following instructions.

  2. Evaluation of the application: Qualified candidates will received offer letter issued by University of Sri Jayewardenepura for joining the programme. 

Application Fee and Course Fee

The semester course fee is USD 1000. If a candidate opts to take selected courses only, the program fee for each course is USD 300. Application Fee is USD 10

Evaluation, Assessment and Examination Policy, Regulations, and By-Laws

All selected candidates are enrolled in the existing/ongoing batch of M.Sc. REMV, distinct from the Postgraduate Coursework Exchange Program. The teaching and assessment structure remains identical to the existing program.

The Examination Policy, Regulations, and By-Laws for Taught Postgraduate Programmes in the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura are applicable to the Postgraduate Coursework Exchange Program.

Release of Results/ Certification

The university (USJ) will issue the academic transcript for the completed courses at the end of the study period, enabling the transfer of credits to the candidates’ home university.

Withdrawal of the Programme after Selection/ Completion of Part of the Programme

In the event that a participant chooses to withdraw from the programme either after selection or completion of part of the programme, the following policy shall apply:

  • Notification: The participant must formally notify the program administration in writing of their decision to withdraw from the programme. This notification should include the reasons for withdrawal and any relevant documentation.
  • Refund Policy: The refund policy for course fees set by the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce is applicable.
  • Academic Records: Academic records, including grades and completion certificates for completed modules or coursework, may be issued to the withdrawing participant upon request and in accordance with the program’s policies.
  • Programme Completion Status: The participant’s official status regarding the completion of the programme will be determined based on the completed coursework and assessments up to the point of withdrawal.
  • Re-enrollment: Participants who have withdrawn may inquire about the possibility of re-enrollment in future programme offerings, subject to program policies and availability.
  • Impact on Certification: The withdrawal may impact the eligibility for program certification. The participant should review the program’s certification requirements to understand the consequences of withdrawal.

Residence Visa
