The Undergraduate Research Day (URD) of the Department of Business Administration (https://mgt.sjp.ac.lk/bus/research-clusters/undergraduate-research-symposium-urs-proceedings/)—held every year in conjunction with the International Conference on Business Management (ICBM), Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (https://icbm.sjp.ac.lk/)—aims to provide a platform for undergraduates to present their research work, encouraging active engagement in the processes of knowledge creation and dissemination.
This year, the organising committee of the Undergraduate Research Day invites the Department’s fourth-year students to submit extended abstracts based on their individual Research projects/dissertations. Those interested in submitting an extended abstract are encouraged to contact their research supervisor for guidance. Moreover, the committee will organise a few online sessions for interested individuals to help them build their texts.

Submission guidelines:

• Word Limit: 1200 words (excluding the title and the list of references)
• Contents
  • Title
  • Keywords (maximum 05 words)
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review
  • Methodology
  • Results and Discussion/Findings and Discussion
  • Conclusion (and Recommendation, if any)
  • List of References (APA style, 7th Edition)

E-mail your extended abstracts to:  businessurd.fmsc@sjp.ac.lk as a MS Word document, with no headers, footers or track changes (page: A4 size, 1” margin all sides, Font: Times New Roman, Font size: 12, 1.5-line spaced, justified paragraphs, all titles in Bold style). Extended abstracts for the Research Day will be selected via a blind review process. Thus, an author is required to attach an ‘author details form’ as a separate document when submitting the extended abstract.

Deadline for the submission of extended abstracts: 28 December 2025.

You will receive decisions regarding the acceptance of your abstracts within two to three weeks after submission. If your extended abstract is accepted and requires any modifications, you are required to submit the final version by 06 February 2026.
