Guest Lecture on Personal Branding

The Department organized a guest lecture giving a great opportunity to participants to get familiar with Personal Branding through Linkedin.

The session was conducted by Mr. Lasantha Gamage who is a member of the alumni of the department who has over 16 plus years of experience in oil and gas, resources, constructions and non-profit sectors in Australia and Overseas companies, having held senior management accounting, Finance Controller and Business partner positions at Air Force Association, Superior Energy and Merlo Group Australia. Before he migrated to Australia. He worked with the International Federation of Red Cross in Sri Lanka and worked as a Head of Finance at UNICEF funded tsunami school construction programme. The session was held on 16th June 2022 via the Zoom Meeting Platform where many important aspects were discussed in length during the session on creating a Linkedin profile, maintaining professionalism online, How to find the suitable job opportunities and many other important aspects.

Department of Commerce aims to continuously develop the undergraduates with strong interpersonal and professional background from conducting this type of managerial skills development programmes.
