BIO

Amesh Pathirana is a distinguished Chartered Accountant and Lecturer from Sri Lanka, with a rich background in Financial Accounting, Auditing, and Taxation. He has carved a notable career path that bridges both the corporate sector and academia.
Amesh began his academic journey at Nalanda College, Colombo, where he excelled in his GCE Advanced Level examinations. He then pursued higher studies at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, earning a First Class Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Special). His pursuit of academic and professional excellence continued with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Professionally, Amesh has made significant contributions through his roles at KPMG Sri Lanka, Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, and MAS Holdings (Pvt) Limited, where he gained extensive experience in financial reporting, compliance, and corporate taxation.
He is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (ACMA(UK) | CGMA) at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK.
In June 2022, Amesh transitioned to academia as a Lecturer (Probationary) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where he continues to share his professional expertise and academic insights with the next generation of finance professionals.
