Dr. Chameera Udawattha Participates in INGENUITY 2023/ 2024 - Technology Day as Chief Guest at Nalanda College    

Dr. Chameera Udawattha had the honour and delight of participating in INGENUITY 2023/2024, the Technology Day of Nalanda College, as the Chief Guest. His keynote speech centered on the critical role of innovation in today’s world, focusing on how to identify key issues and use intuition to foster new advancements.

Dr. Udawattha elaborated on the importance of intuition and gut feelings in the innovation process. He shared insights on how many great innovations began with a simple, intuitive idea. Drawing inspiration from the Wright brothers, who trusted their intuition and imagined folding a piece of metal to transport 500 people, he encouraged attendees to trust their instincts and embrace bold ideas.

He discussed the process of turning these innovative ideas into reality, emphasizing that new innovations should not just remain concepts but should be developed and commercialized. He explained the importance of the patent process in protecting intellectual property and outlined the steps necessary to bring new products to market. Dr. Udawattha stressed that successful commercialization is crucial for the practical application of innovations, allowing them to make a tangible impact on society.

Dr. Udawattha also touched on the need for a supportive ecosystem that encourages innovation, where individuals feel empowered to experiment and take risks. He highlighted the value of perseverance, open-mindedness, and collaboration in overcoming challenges and driving progress.
