Field Visit Highlights Emerging Construction Technologies in Real Estate Development
The Department of Estate Management and Valuation organized a field visit for fourth-year undergraduate students of the B.Sc. (Honours) in Real Estate Management and Valuation degree programme, under the subject of EMV4379: Property Technology and Digital Solutions, to explore emerging construction technologies and their applications in real estate development.
As part of the visit, students were hosted at the ICC PPVC Yard by International Construction Consortium (Pvt) Ltd, where they gained first-hand exposure to Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) and modular construction technologies. This experience enabled students to understand the efficiency, precision, and innovation associated with off-site construction methods.
The visit also included the Oceanfront Service Apartment Project, allowing students to observe ongoing construction practices and the practical implementation of modern building technologies within a real project environment.
This field-based learning experience provided valuable insights into Construction Technology (ConTech) and its growing significance in shaping the future of the real estate sector. It further enhanced students’ awareness of technological advancements, supporting the development of forward-thinking professionals equipped to engage with an evolving built environment
