Dr. Chameera Udawattha graduated from the University of Moratuwa and is now a Senior Lecturer attached to Department of Real estate Management at University of Sri Jayewardenepura. His teaching subjects are Building Construction, Construction Technology, Building pathology and cost Estimation. He has published interdisciplinary projects in a variety of outlets and received numerous awards, including the Presidents Awards for Scientific Publication in 2018, Presidents award for the most outstanding research in 2021, Gold medalist, PhD thesis competition 2019, the SLIA Research & Publication Award for the year 2019-2020, SLIA Research Award 2020, and the Best Paper Award by Global Academic Research Institute GARI 2017 etc. And in this year he was awarded as the young innovator of the year for his extensive contribution of new innovations in the field of construction and real estate.

The Director’s mandate is to transform the university’s intellectual property into economic value. Their primary duties include:Technology Transfer & Licensing: Overseeing the process of moving research-based inventions from the lab to the marketplace. This includes negotiating and signing licensing agreements with private companies. Intellectual Property (IP) Management: Providing guidance on patent consultation and helping researchers protect their innovations through formal IP policies. Industry-Academia Partnerships: Acting as the lead coordinator to build strategic alliances with private and public sectors, ensuring that university research solves real-world industrial problems.Entrepreneurship Promotion: Encouraging a culture of "University Spin-offs" where students and faculty can launch startups based on their research findings.
