Undergraduate Research Day 2021

Undergraduate Research Symposium 2021, organized by the Department of Estate Management and Valuation was held on 5th April 2021 at the New faculty Boardroom of Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. It was conducted in hybrid mode where academics and presenters joined the session physically, and students participated Online.  Being the third consecutive Symposium, the event was an excellent platform for Final Year Undergraduates who have completed independent research as a part of their Degree Programme to disseminate their research findings to their Peers, Junior Students, Academics, and Corporate Sector. Eight selected research studies were presented at the Symposium. Mr A.S.W.K. Nanayakkara, Additional Chief Valuer, Government Valuation Department and Mr Tharaka Shaveen Silva, Enforcement Officer, Urban Development Authority joined as discussants for the session. The extended abstracts authored by the students and supervisors were published in the symposium proceedings.
Dr Chameera Udawatte, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Estate Management and Valuation participated as the keynote speaker and delivered an insightful speech titled “Research is finding your intuition”. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senior Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, the Dean of the Faculty, Professor P.D. Nimal, The Head of the Department, Dr TGUP Perera and Academic Staff Members graced the event. The Undergraduate Research Symposium 2021 was funded by the AHEAD ELTA-ELSA Project, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
