A session on “Multitasking and Managing Responsibilities Effectively” was conducted by Mr. Sachin Wijayasinghe, Head of the Department of Commerce. The session aimed to help students understand the concept of multitasking and its importance for both academic life and future professional roles. It focused on effectively managing academic work, extracurricular activities, and personal responsibilities, while introducing basic time management and prioritization techniques. Common challenges faced by students were discussed along with practical solutions to overcome them. The session was enriched with real-life examples and professional experiences, enabling students to relate theory to practice. Students were actively engaged and found the session insightful, relevant, and highly beneficial for improving their personal and academic effectiveness.
02. “Sponsorship Management and Project Supervision, Aligning with Key Public Speaking Skills” – January 19th, 2026
A session on “Sponsorship Management and Project Supervision, Aligning with Key Public Speaking Skills” was conducted by Ms. Tharuka Harischandra, Linguistic Coordinator and Instructor at ULCworld Consultants. The session focused on identifying potential sponsors and aligning with relevant stakeholders, while emphasizing the importance of professional pitching, proposal writing, and persuasive communication. Key aspects of negotiation and agreement formation were discussed to enhance students’ confidence in managing sponsorship-related interactions. In addition, the session covered project supervision and effective task management using Asana, along with post-project monitoring, reporting, and relationship management. Students actively participated throughout the session and found it highly engaging, practical, and valuable for developing real-world professional and communication skills.
03. “Presentation Skills” – 26th of January 2026
Focusing on strengthening students’ academic and professional communication abilities, Ms. Nisansala Kulathunga, Lecturer (Probationary) from the Department of Commerce, conducted a session on Presentation Skills. The session explored the importance of effective presentation skills in both academic and workplace contexts, while guiding students on planning and structuring presentations in a clear and logical manner. Emphasis was placed on verbal and non-verbal communication techniques to enhance delivery, as well as strategies to manage presentation anxiety and build confidence. In addition, students were made aware of the significance of maintaining professional conduct during presentations. The session was interactive and supported students in developing confidence, clarity, and professionalism in their presentations.
