
Guest Lecture on “White Collar Crime and Emerging Trends in Forensic Accounting”
The Department of Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, had the privilege of hosting Dr. Kishani Udugampola, a practitioner in the fields of financial crime and forensic accounting, for a guest lecture conducted on 3rd February 2026, for the fourth-year undergraduates of the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Degree Programme. Dr. Udugampola delivered an insightful and thought-provoking session on White Collar Crime and Emerging Trends in Forensic Accounting, highlighting the increasing sophistication of financial fraud, global enforcement developments, and the expanding role of forensic accounting professionals.
The session provided students with valuable exposure to contemporary challenges in the financial crime landscape, enhancing their understanding of forensic accounting within a global context. The Department of Commerce extends its appreciation to Dr. Udugampola for sharing her expertise and for inspiring the next generation of commerce professionals.Dr. Udugampola works as an Adjunct Professor at the Rutgers University School of Criminal Justice, USA, and serves as the Co-Chair and President of the Global Symposium on Financial Crime, Fraud, and Artificial Intelligence. She is also the President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) – New Jersey Chapter 9, contributing significantly to global initiatives on fraud prevention, forensic accounting education, and financial crime research.
