Financial Modelling Workshop

As a result of the MoU signed between the Department and the Acuity Knowledge Partners we had the privilege to organize a two day workshop on Financial Modelling conducted by four esteem practitioners attached to the Financial Service Sector having a vast experience working along with Acuity Knowledge Partners. Mr. Sudharaka Sandeepana, Delivery Manager, Mr. Kasun Thanthirimudalige, Assistant Director, Mr. Ashan Kendagolla, Senior Associate and Mr. Dihan Udugampola, Associate of Acuity Knowledge Parteners spend four hours spanning over the two days having insightful discussions while presenting content related to Guide to to SEC filings, Modelling best practices , GAAP and non-GAAP reconciliation, Restating the income statement, Revenue drivers and Cost drivers, Forecasting other items in the Income Statement and Balance Sheet, Balancing the model.

The fruitful sessions were delivered via Zoom Meeting Platform on the 20th and 21st of December 2021 from 04.00pm to 06.00pm provided the opportunity for all the students in the Department to understand the importance of finance modelling in their day to day work. The resources persons took an extra effort by providing practical examples to make the content more familiar to the undergraduates.
