
“තිනේත්රා – Thinethra” All Island Art/ Essay Competition: Celebrating Young Artistic Talents Across Sri Lanka
The “තිනේත්රා – Thinethra” All Island Art/ Essay Competition organised by the REMV Student Association (REMV CREW), Department of Estate Management and Valuation was successfully held on 26th September 2023 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). The competition received over 1700 artworks and 20 Sinhala and Tamil medium essays from schools nationwide.
The competition featured three categories: Primary (Grades 1-5), Junior (Grades 6-11) and Senior (Grades 12-1). Notably, it aimed to explore creative ideas related to the real estate discipline, emphasizing the future of young minds. The renowned Design Lecturer, Mr. W. P. Deepthi Kumara, alongside renowned artist and bird scientist Lester Perera and the professional artist Sudath Abeysekara judged the submissions.
The prize-giving ceremony was held on September 26, 2013, at the BMICH, marking an unforgettable experience, allowing the public to view the impressive creations on the 26th and 27th. Moreover, a workshop facilitated by a seasoned artist further enriched students’ artistic understanding.
The participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to nurture creativity, attributing the success of තිනේත්රා – Thinethra ’23 to the dedication of the organizers, particularly the REMV CREW. Their tireless efforts illuminated the stage for child and young talents, fostering an environment that encourages and enhances students’ creativity.
