Discussion Forum with Alumina: Curriculum Revision of B.Sc. Marketing Management (Special) Degree, Department of Marketing Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura
The Department of Marketing Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized a
Discussion Forum called as “Stakeholder Consultation Session with Alumina of the Department”
in the process of revising the current curriculum of the B.Sc. Marketing Management (Special)
Degree programme which is targeted to launch in 2020.
The purpose of the discussion is to show case the proposed curriculum of the Degree to the
Alumina members of the Department and to get the insights on their expectations from a
marking graduate who pass out from the Department, challenges that they face when adopting
into the corporate world, and how did they overcome such challenges, and to comment on the
new curriculum by incorporating new trends and opportunities in the market both locally and
globally. The outcome of the discussion is to introduce new course units (subjects), revise the
existing course units to match the curriculum with the latest trends, new knowledge in the
discipline while developing required generic and discipline-specific skills and attitude of the
students. New teaching-learning mechanisms and evaluation techniques are also expected to
adopt while closely collaborating with the Alumina of the Department in order to make sure the
graduates of the Department are suitable for the highly dynamic era ahead
