Links with Professional Bodies in Education Field

The Department maintains close links with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and the Association of Certified Professional Marketers. The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) offers a gold medal to the best student of the Marketing Management Department in each year while CIM awards a gold medal to the student with the most outstanding achievements in studies and extra-curricular activities in the Bachelor of Science Honours in Marketing Management Degree.

Link with Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA)

The department has close links with the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa, for conducting the personality and skill development programme for the students of the department under the course unit of MAR3175: Sports and Personality Development II.

Agreement to Promote Entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka

The Department of Marketing Management signed an Agreement with the Minis try of Rattan, Brass, Clay, Furniture, and Rural Industry Promotion with the steering vision of promoting the selected entrepreneurs in the nation to uplift them to cater the both local and international markets with a novel approach.

MOU with Ogilvy & Mather

Department of Marketing Management and Ogilvy & Mather who is a giant multi-national in the -field of Advertising signed a MOU, with the purpose of creating a bridge between academia and industry. Both parties aimed at the development of both organizations in particular and the media industry in general. Ogilvy & Mathar will Provide research and intern ship opportunities, facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and invite lecturers of the faculty to conduct training programmes.

MOU with ekaterra Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd

Both the Department of Marketing Management and ekaterra Ceylon (Pvt) Ltd pledge themselves to cooperate in a spirit of mutual understanding and to develop a close relationship of goodwill and friend ship. Providing internship opportunities in the area of International Marketing, sponsoring sustainability projects carried out by the department annually, facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions by providing resource persons are the key benefits to the department of the MOU.

MOU with C.W.Mackie PLC

The enhancement of cooperation between the two parties is aimed at the development of both organizations through mutually beneficial engagements while providing a platform for undergraduates to grow themselves. C.W. Mackie shall facilitate the ‘Marketing Week’ for the second-year undergraduates and the ‘Simulation Game’ related to a brand of the company as a partial fulfilment of the assessment of the Product and Brand Management subject. While providing internship opportunities, C.W. Mackie shall share industry expertise for periodic curriculum revisions.
