BIO

Prof. Malawi Arachchige Asoka Malkanthie, is a distinguished academic and researcher
currently serving as an Associate Professor in Marketing at the Department of Marketing
Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Prof. Malkanthie has been a vital part of the
university since 2001, beginning her journey as an Assistant Lecturer and later leading the
Department of Marketing Management as the Head of the Department.

Prof. Malkanthie holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Kobe University,
Japan, with a specialization in Contemporary Management. She also earned a Master of Science
in Management from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Her primary research interests
include consumer behavior, online marketing, and branding.

With an extensive portfolio of research contributions, Prof. Malkanthie has published numerous
refereed journal and conference papers both nationally and internationally. She is also the
author of several highly cited books. Her research excellence has been recognized with several
awards, and her work has been featured prominently in various international conferences and
journals. Prof. Malkanthie serves as a reviewer for esteemed journals such as the Asia Pacific
Journal of Marketing, the Asian Journal of Marketing, Management, the Sri Lankan Journal of
Business Economics, the Vidyodaya Journal, and the International Journal of Multidisciplinary
Studies.

In addition to her research, Prof. Malkanthie is actively involved in postgraduate teaching and
research supervision. She serves as a lecturer and examiner for various programs at the
University of Sri Jayewardenepura and other institutions. Her contributions to academia extend
beyond her home university; she has served as a visiting lecturer at the University of Moratuwa
and Eastern University Sri Lanka and has played a significant role in curriculum development at
several universities in Sri Lanka.
