Magnate 2025 - 1st Runner-Up

The Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, proudly earned the title of 1st Runner-Up at the Magnate 2025 – Inter-University Debate Competition, organized by the Finance Students’ Association, Department of Finance, Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, on September 18th, 2025. 

The team (USJ Team 3) comprised talented undergraduates from the Department of Accounting: Sarah Henricus, Vishwa Nirmal, Kavidini Tharushika, Thirani Munasinghe, and Rashmika Midipolawaththa. Additionally, another team, USJ Team 2, representing the Department of Accounting, advanced to the semi-final stage of the competition. USJ Team 2 consisted of Mehansa Jayasundara, Vojitha Herat, Chalani Kuruppu, and Pubuduni Guneratne.
