Renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the
Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Accounting (DA), Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka),the premier national professional accounting body, was renewed on Tuesday 18th November 2025 at the University premises. This collaborative agreement between the DA, USJ and the CA Sri Lanka, will bring mutual benefits in the areas of student development and training, subject exemptions, academic and professional resource sharing, joint research and publications, public engagement and mutual promotion and visibility. On behalf of the USJ, the MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor, Snr. Prof. M. M. Pathmalal, and it was witnessed by the Dean, FMSC, Prof. DushanJayawickrama and the Head, DA, Prof. DileepaSamudrage. On behalf of the CA, Sri Lanka, the MoU was signed by two Council Members of the CA Sri Lanka; the President, Mr. HeshanaKuruppu and the Vice President Mr. TishanSubasinghe andthe Chief Executive Officer (CEO) ofthe CA Sri Lanka, Ms. LakmaliPriyangika and it was witnessed by Ms. MadushiHapuarachchi, Deputy Director, Student Affairs and Mr. KalharaGunathunge, Manager Education. The following academic staff members of the DA, USJ, were also present at this event;Snr.
