Visit of Professor Shawn Miller to the Department of Accounting

The Department of Accounting was pleased to host Professor Shawn Miller from Lone Star College, United States, on July 22, 2025, during his visit to Sri Lanka.Professor Miller serves as the Department Chair of Accounting and Economics at Lone Star College, one of the largest public community colleges in the U.S.

During the visit, Professor Miller engaged in a cordial discussion with members of the academic staff. The conversation focused on several areas of mutual interest, including:

• Introducing the institutional backgrounds of both Lone Star College and the Department of Accounting, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
• Opportunities for future teaching and research collaborations.
• The potential for Fulbright Scholar engagement in upcoming years.

Following the discussion, Professor Miller was accompaniedon a brief tour of the university premises.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dileepa Samudrage (Head of the Department), Senior Prof. Samanthi Senaratne, Prof. Harendra Kariyawasam, Prof. Athula Manawaduge, and Mr. Dumindu Janith, representing the Department of Accounting.
