J’pura Expo 2024: Empowering SMEs, Driving Global Success

J’PURA EXPO 2024, the flagship event of the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, was held for the third consecutive year on November 24th and 25th, 2024.

Day 1 (November 24, Mihilaka Medura, BMICH):
The first day of the event featured:

  • Export Product Fair: An exhibition where SMEs showcased their products, networked with industry professionals, and received valuable feedback to refine their global strategies.
  • Export-Oriented Workshop: Interactive sessions covering key topics such as digital marketing strategies, insights on customs clearance, and entrepreneurial success stories, empowering SMEs to expand into international markets.
  • Venture Vista: An investor pitching competition where entrepreneurs presented innovative business ideas to secure investment and mentorship, enabling them to scale their ventures internationally.

Day 2 (November 25, Sri Sumangala Auditorium, University of Sri Jayewardenepura):
The second day hosted a panel discussion under the theme, “Local to Global: Building Future-Proof SMEs for Sri Lanka’s Export Horizon.” The discussion explored global export trends, technology adoption, and policy frameworks essential for strengthening Sri Lanka’s presence in the global trade arena.
