The Department of Business Economics publishes the Sri Lankan Journal of Business Economics (SLJBE). This is a refereed journal approved by the University Senate of which the first journal was published in June 2004. From 2019 onwards, the SLJBE is published bi-annually (in May and November). The objective of the SLJBE is to advance the understanding of knowledge in Business Economics by providing a forum for the dissemination of high quality research. The SLJBE caters to both local and foreign academics, professionals and students. The editorial board of the SLJBE comprises eminent local and foreign professors in the field of economics and management. 

The manuscripts are invited in the following fields of research:

  • Business Economics
  • Banking and Finance
  • Economic Development and Policy
  • Management and Organizational Behaviour
  • Small Business Management
  • International Business

Authors can submit the manuscripts to sljbe@sjp.ac.lk (in MS Word format) at anytime of the year.

Authors Guidelines:

  • Page size: B5
  • Margins: 1-inch from each side
  • Single-spaced text
  • Font style: Times New Roman
  • Font size: 11-point in text and 10-point in tables and figures
  • Title: maximum 15 words
  • Abstract: 150–200 words
  • Keywords: 4-6 words
  • Black and white images and graphs only
  • Use footnotes instead of endnotes
  • Referencing style: 6th edition of APA (American Psychological Association) Style
  • Word limit: 5,000-8,000 words including references and appendices

All manuscripts are subject to double blind review. The review process is expected take up to two-three months from the date of initial submission. Please note that once the printed version of the issue has been published, it will be uploaded and publicized on the official website of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
