The first webinar on “Sri Lankan Economy and the Way Forward amidst COVID-19” organized by the Research Center for Business Economics and Development Studies (RCBEDS) of the Department of Business Economics was successfully held on Friday, 11th September, 2020 from 6.00 pm onwards, virtually via Zoom platform.
Dr. (Mrs.) D. S. T. Wanaguru (Additional Director, Economic Research Department, Central Bank of Sri Lanka), Mr. Qadhir Sheriff (Associate Director, Acuity Knowledge Partners) and Mr. Tushara Jayaratne (Designation Director, External Relations and Capital Market Education, Security Exchange Commission) were participated as the eminent panelists for this online forum. Moderator of the event was Prof. P. J. Kumarasinghe, Professor of the Department of Business Economics. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) M. A. K. Sriyalatha, Director of RCBEDS, Department of Business Economics.
The event was well-received by an audience of over 150 participants including Heads of the Departments, undergraduates and postgraduate students, alumni of the Department, academic staff members of the Faculty and participants from the industry. It was successfully broadcasted live on Facebook.
