Empowering Future Leaders: Managerial Skill Development Workshops for B.Com (Hons) Students

In May, the Managerial Skill Development I, offered to first-year B.Com (Hons) Degree program, conducted three workshops featuring expert speakers in their respective fields. The topics covered included:

1. “Branding Yourself for Success” on LinkedIn by Mr. Lasantha Gamage, Group Financial Systems and Technical Accountant at Silver Group, Western Australia. Mr. Lasantha Gamage is an alumnus of the Department of Commerce.
2. An Entrepreneurial workshop was conducted by Mr. Yenuka Rupasinghe, a Brand Manager at TAC | Social Media Marketing Agency. Mr. Yenuka Rupasinghe is an alumnus of the Department of Commerce, who won the JESA – Best Innovator Awards in 2023.
3. The workshop titled “Accelerate Your Career: A Guide to Professional Development and Education” was led by Mr. Amesh Pathirana and Mr. Ravindu Kulawardena, both lecturers from the Department of Commerce. This workshop aimed to enhance students’ managerial and leadership skills, empowering them to effectively navigate future career challenges.
