විවරණ 2026 - 10th Edition

The Accounting and Financial Management Association (AFMA), the student body of the Department of Accounting successfully organised “Vivarana 2026”, an online G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Accounting seminar, on 27 July 2026. The seminar was conducted for school students preparing for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination scheduled for August 2026.

Vivarana is a voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative launched by AFMA in 2019 with the objective of supporting G.C.E. Advanced Level Commerce students and teachers across Sri Lanka. In 2026, the initiative marked its seventh year and 10th edition, reflecting AFMA’s continued commitment to supporting school education and sharing academic knowledge with the wider community.

The “Vivarana 2026” seminar was conducted by a panel of academic staff members of the Department of Accounting, including Senior Professor Kennedy Gunawardana, Professor Harendra Kariyawasam, Ms. Amali Henadirage, and Mr. Janith Dayaratne. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) supported the programme as the Main Sponsor.

Sincere appreciation is extended to the current and former Heads of the Department of Accounting for their continued support, Mr. Chathuranga Sandaruwan, the founding lecturer of Vivarana, the academic staff members who served as resource persons, CA Sri Lanka and other sponsors, and the AFMA members whose dedication contributed to the successful organisation of the programme. Gratitude is also extended to the University administration, government education authorities, school teachers, students, and all well-wishers who have supported Vivarana over the years.

Through its successful completion of ten editions, Vivarana continues to demonstrate the Department of Accounting’s and AFMA’s commitment to educational outreach and community engagement, providing valuable academic support to G.C.E. Advanced Level Commerce students across the country.
