6th Young Accountants’ Research Conference (YARC) 2026

The Young Accountants’ Research Conference (YARC) 2026, the student research conference of the Department of Accounting, was held on Monday, 16 February 2026, as part of the Undergraduate Research Day (URD) of the International Conference on Business Management (ICBM) 2026.

Prof. Rangika Halwathura, Senior Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa, served as the Keynote Speaker at the inauguration ceremony of the URD of ICBM 2026. At YARC 2026, a total of forty-one young accountants presented their research in five technical sessions on Corporate Reporting and Taxation, Corporate Governance, Auditing and Assurance, Sustainability and Management Accounting, Technology and Innovation in Accounting, and Accounting Education and Professional Development. At the concluding ceremony of YARC 2026, Prof. Dileepa Samudrage, Head of the Department of Accounting, addressed the gathering.

The Organizing Committee of YARC 2026 comprised Ms. Amali Henadirage, Ms. Thilini Cooray, Ms. Nathasha Kaumadi, Mr. Gayantha Jayasooriya, Mr. Janith Dayarathna, and Mr. Akila Gamage.
