
AFMA Wellness Camp 2024
The AFMA Wellness Camp, organized by the Accounting and Financial Management Association (AFMA), was designed to provide comprehensive medical services to both students and lecturers. Held on October 2, 2024, from 9.00 a.m. throughout the day at the Old Boardroom, SBGF 1, Medical Centre, the event aimed to promote health awareness and well-being within the university community. The camp was conducted in collaboration with the MOH Office, Boralesgamuwa, the PMCU offices of Mirihana and Boralesgamuwa, and with the assistance of undergraduates from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It was open to FMSC lecturers, first-year FMSC students, and undergraduates from the Department of Accounting.
A wide range of medical services was provided, including hypertension screening, blood sugar testing, cholesterol screening, BMI assessment and awareness, vision screening, dental examination, and breast cancer screening, all available at designated service points. Participants received their test results and were offered consultations with doctors at the Old Boardroom for further guidance.
