The Department of Accounting, together with its student body, AFMA, proudly congratulates Dr. Nuwan Gunarathne on being recognised among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the Stanford/Elsevier List – 2026.
This prestigious international recognition, based on standardised citation indicators using Scopus data, highlights the global impact of his scholarly contributions. Having received this recognition in 2025 as well, Dr. Gunarathne continues to demonstrate his commitment to research excellence and the advancement of knowledge.

His remarkable achievement brings immense pride to the Department of Accounting, the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It also inspires fellow academics, researchers, and students, encouraging the pursuit of research excellence and meaningful contributions to academia.
