Congratulations to Professor U. Anura Kumara

Heartiest congratulations go to Dr. U. Anura Kumara for his promotion to the post of Professor at the Department of Business Economics, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ). He is one of the founding members of the department who received his first degree, B.A. Economics (Special) from the USJ, and the postgraduate degree, M.Sc. Operational Research afterwards at the University of Moratuwa. Prof. Anura Kumara obtained his Ph.D. from the Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom. He has many years of teaching and research supervision experience in a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and has extensively published researchers in the fields of Economics and Management.

He served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC), USJ from May 2014 to May 2020. Prior to this position, he was the Head of the Department of Business Economics. He has made significant contributions to the university education and for the national development.
