MPhil Scholars Day Out | Research Workshop 2025

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Business Economics students of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura recently took part in a unique MPhil Scholars Day Out | Research Workshop 2025 held at Tranquil Escape Villa, Hikkaduwa.

This special event blended academic enrichment with environmental responsibility. The day began with a tree-planting initiative, where students and academic staff collectively planted 60 trees in support of biodiversity and sustainability.

Following this, students participated in a research workshop where they shared their research progress, received feedback, and engaged in discussions with their peers and academic staff. The session provided a valuable opportunity for scholarly exchange and mentorship. Academic staff of the MPhil programme, along with other lecturers from the Department of Business Economics participated in this programme.

The day encouraged collaboration, peer learning, and research clarity, showing that academic growth and social responsibility can go hand in hand.
