Residential Research Workshop at Yagirala 2025

The Final Year Undergraduates of the Department of Business Economics, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully concluded a two-days residential workshop under the subject BEC: 4371 Research Methodology. The workshop took place on May 17th and 18th, 2025, at the Yagirala Forest Research and Conservation Center.

Under the guidance of Dr. Janaka Fernando, Head of the Department, together with the other members of the Department, students engaged in field-based learning by conducting surveys within the local village community. Utilizing the collected data, they formulated research findings overnight, thereby strengthening their analytical and teamwork capabilities.

This valuable experience was made possible with the generous support of the Yagirala Research and Conservation Education Center under the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The department also extends its sincere gratitude to the center’s staff and the Yagirala village community for their cooperation and hospitality.
